Coin Holder
Intel for Project
During this project, I meant to create a sleek, yet functional coin holder, that was small enough to place in a car or night stand, but also large enough to hold many coins. My coin holder can supplement a piggy bank, while also being more appealing.
Step by step
1. First start by making a 2D sketch with a 3.25 inches by 4.00 inches rectangle on the XY plane.
2. Now finish the 2D sketch, and extrude the rectangle 1.25 inches out. 3. Now start another 2D sketch on the top of the rectangle, and start by making four circles. 4. The first circle from the top should have a .785 inch diameter, the second should have a .88 inch diameter, the third .985 inch diameter, and the fourth should have a .735 inch diameter. 5. Now dimension the middle of the circles to the edge of the rectangle, making sure they are .625 inches from the edge. 6. Now add up all the diameters of the circles, subtract that measurement from 4. This should .615, divide this by 5 because there are 5 spaces over the rectangle that should be equal. Now use the .615 and dimension it from each edge making sure all the circles are equidistant from each other. 7. Now extrude the circles down, 3.125 inches. 8. Now transfer the file to maker bot, and scale it by 1000 percent. While making sure it is flat and laying the correct way. 9. Now export your file and print. |
